Hearts

The hearts series bothered me for a while until I decided to confess to my mother and my art coach about them. I was eager to make them but afraid of falling into kitsch. Both said, "go for it! you have nothing to lose!" So, I engaged myself with all my... heart. In half a year I finished more than 10 pictures representing hearts made of different materials.

I then organized a sale exhibition and gave a small concert playing the harp while a friend of mine accompanied me with percussion instruments. I invited friends and the "Green Lamp" foundation at my event. They provide solar lamps and midwife schooling in Ethiopia. 80% of the proceeds I donated to this wonderful charity organization. I am proud to have been able to use my art for charitable purposes. There are pictures left from this series ready to find a new home. I will continue donating the same percentage for every sold heart-picture. If you are interested, please contact me.
