Hai-Kuh / High-Coup

I have a love and hate relationship with newspapers. I want to know what happens around me and in the world, but I resent being bombarded with too much information. Often, I end up going superficially over the headlines thinking that I have already got what I need. Not only do I ignore the article but my perception changes and suddenly the headline becomes an element in itself.

For several years I selected headlines from my daily newspapers and experimented with them. What pleased me the most were short funny poems haiku-like: out of their context, I twist and recombine the headlines in new, fresh connotations. Similar to the Trash Treasures they built their own minimalistic code: equivocal, sarcastic, abstruse. Regrettably they are only in German and truly impossible to translate. Enjoy!
